Sigma Phi Epsilon

Virginia Alpha Chapter
Founded: 1901

Sigma Phi Epsilon was founded at the University of Richmond in 1901 on the cardinal principles of virtue, diligence, and brotherly love by 12 men who weren’t satisfied with the existing fraternities. Today, the chapter still serves as a model for Sig Ep across the nation with more than 262,000 lifetime members from over 260 campuses.

Sig Ep strives to build balanced leaders for the world’s communities. The brothers at the University of Richmond do this through our commitment to campus leadership, academics, and strong personal character. Each brother carries with him the cardinal principles that still stand true at our Alpha Chapter after more than 100 years.
