The Welcome to Our Web program, known as WOW, is the University of Richmond's student led welcome initiative for new and returning students. WOW consists of a series of events and programs throughout the Fall Semester that aim to build inclusive community within our campus, by creating opportunities for students to develop strong interpersonal relationships and to experience the true meaning of Spider Pride!
Mission
To build an inclusive environment by creating meaningful connections that cultivate Spider Pride through the creation of sustainable programs that have the flexibility to evolve alongside our Spider community.
Meet the WOW Team

Dani Valderrama
Dani Valderrama is a Sophomore from Falls Church, Virginia. She is studying Business Administration and music. Dani is involved in Endeavor RSB, SSIR, and is the marketing and promotions lead for WOW. She is very spontaneous and is excited to share her passion for community building and creating meaningful memories for all spiders.

Ginny Zhang
Ginny Zhang is a sophomore from Tianjin, China studying Mathematical Economics. Ginny is an involved member of the campus community. She works at the International Admissions and the Center for Student Involvement as a marketing assistant. She is also a member of CSSA in the External Affairs Department. Ginny serves as the Campus Partner Collaboration Lead for WOW.

Kavon Thompson
Kavon Thompson is a junior from Atlanta, Georgia studying Sociology Chemistry, and WGSS. He is excited to join the WOW team as the First Year and Sophomore Experience Lead. Over the past two years Kavon has made the most of his college experience and has been involved in numerous organizations on campus including being a PAM mentor, a Cultural Advisor facilitating Spider Nights, and as a Bonner Scholar. Kavon enjoys nice-long walks along the river and spending time with the people he loves.

Colin Elgarten
Colin Elgarten is a junior from Mendham, New Jersey. He is studying Accounting and Health Care Studies. Colin is the events and programming lead for WOW. He is involved in SpiderBoard and Camp Kesem, and works as an EMT with UREMS. Colin is ecstatic to create spaces for spiders to connect with one another and to welcome them to their new home.
