Multicultural Greek Council

The Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the newest council at the University of Richmond and aims to be a dynamic and inclusive community within the college’s Greek life system, uniting culturally-based fraternities and sororities. Committed to celebrating and promoting cultural awareness, the MGC serves as a vibrant intersection where traditions, values, and customs from various ethnic backgrounds converge. At its core, the MGC fosters a sense of unity and understanding among its member organizations, which could represent a spectrum of cultural heritages such as Latino/a/x, Asian-Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, and Native American communities, among others.

Currently, we have one organization as part of the MGC umbrella, with plans to include additional organizations in the future, meeting the diverse needs of our campus community. Each MGC groups forth unique histories, philanthropic endeavors, and educational initiatives that reflect their cultural pride and commitment to service. Members of these organizations often participate in events that showcase their rich traditions, including cultural festivals, heritage months, and community outreach programs. These activities not only enrich the collegiate experience but also promote cross-cultural dialogue and collaboration across campus. Moreover, the MGC serves as a supportive network for its members, offering leadership development opportunities, academic support, and a strong sense of belonging. By embracing diversity and promoting inclusivity, the Multicultural Greek Council stands as a testament to the power of cultural identity and collective strength within the Greek community and beyond.
