RSO Leadership Institute

Leadership positions on campus offer students some of the most rewarding opportunities to develop crucial skills during their college years. Engaging in an organization at Richmond enhances students' connection to campus, provides practical application of classroom knowledge, and allows them to lead their favorite organizations effectively.

This annual officer institute combines leadership development and practical skill building. The leadership development components change each semester to meet the evolving needs of the student organization community. Past topics have included workshops around community building, identity-conscious leadership, and strategies for leading an effective team. During the RSO Institute, student leaders will also learn how to plan events on campus, manage a budget, creatively market their events, hold inclusive programs, and acquire various other tools necessary to lead a thriving student organization.
