National Pan-Hellenic Council

The National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) is a collaborative organization of nine historically African-American fraternities and sororities, often referred to as The Divine Nine.

The council's purpose is to promote unity, expose members to the "service for life" philosophy, and foster leadership development and scholarship. Furthermore, the National Pan-Hellenic Council provides a forum for participation and interaction the members of affiliate organizations and the organizations themselves. It provides for a stronger unified voice and a stronger unified body.

NPHC Intercollegiate Fraternity MembershipThrough a partnership with Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), University of Richmond students may pursue membership in National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) fraternities based at VCU. This intercollegiate collaboration allows UR students to join and fully engage with VCU chapters, expanding access to NPHC fraternities and fostering meaningful cultural and community connections across institutions.
